Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)

• Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education—ACGME has compiled a listing of accredited residency programs and other helpful resources.
• ACGME Resident Data Collection Log—the Residency Review Committee for Surgery's CPT code-based Internet surgical case log.

American Medical Association (AMA)

• FREIDA Online—an AMA database containing information on approximately 7,500 graduate medical education programs that are accredited by the ACGME, as well as information on 200 combined specialty programs.
• AMA-RFS (American Medical Association - Resident and Fellow Section)—Residency and fellowship vacancies—not limited to surgery, but useful source for finding residency and fellowship openings.

Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC)

• Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS^®)—a service that transmits residency applications, letters of recommendation, Dean's Letters, transcripts, and other supporting credentials from medical schools to residency program directors using the Internet.

National Resident Matching Program

National Resident Matching Program is a confidential ranking and selection of applicants for residency positions. It manages the Main Residency Match and the Specialties Matching Service each year.
