Benefit and Value of the ACS Surgeon Specific Registry for Surgeons

Presented by Ulrike Langenscheidt, MS

The ACS Surgeon Specific Registry (ACS SSR™) is a quality improvement tool and database that allows surgeons to track their cases and outcomes in a convenient, easy-to-use manner from their computer or mobile devices (iOS and Android). The ACS SSR is hosted by IQVIA.

The ACS SSR aids surgeons with participation in the American Board of Surgery (ABS) Continuous Certification program requirements, including the submission of the 12-month case log to the ABS. Furthermore, with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) reimbursement programs and policies becoming more prevalent, it has become progressively important for the College to provide our members with a broad array of options to participate in CMS Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). The SSR continues to work closely with CMS to implement the Quality Payment Program (QPP) MIPS for the 2019 performance year.

As a benefit of ACS membership, there is no registration charge for the SSR. Non-ACS surgeon members can sign up for the SSR program for an annual subscription fee or become an ACS member. SSR account creation is quick and easy—set up an account today.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn how to track your cases and outcomes
  • Utilize reports to learn from your entered case data
  • Understand how to fulfill regulatory requirements using the SSR for ABS Continuous Certification Program and CMS QPP MIPS
