Resources in Surgical Education

Message from the Director

Welcome to Resources in Surgical Education (RISE) provided by the American College of Surgeons Division of Education. When you visit RISE, you will find timely and informative peer-reviewed articles that relate to all aspects of surgical education. Under the guidance of Roy Phitayakorn, MD, MHPE (MEd), FACS, and Maura Sullivan, MSN, PhD, as co-editors-in-chief, RISE features innovative tools, information, and other resources that will enhance your surgical education endeavors.

After performing a thoughtful needs assessment, a list of current topics thought to be pertinent to all surgical educators was curated, and content is continually being developed with the help of experts representing all areas and disciplines in surgery. The focus is on brief and timely articles relevant to the everyday responsibilities and challenges faced by surgical educators everywhere.

It is our hope that you will visit RISE routinely to keep informed and engaged, and even be inspired by the resources you will find.

Ajit K. Sachdeva, MD, FRCSC, FACS, FSACME, MAMSE
Director, Division of Education
