The American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACS COT) is very pleased to open a new online stakeholder comment process for the 2014 standards published in the Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient. The ACS COT seeks your participation in its goal to review and assess trauma center criteria on an ongoing basis, in order to ensure appropriateness, timeliness, and practicality.
The overall goal of the ACS COT in establishing standards is to improve patient care and trauma programs. Please provide candid, constructive information aimed at improving patient care and outcomes.
Please keep these guidelines in mind as you provide your feedback:
1. Incremental Revision and Simplification Where Possible
Please focus your feedback towards incremental revisions and simplify where possible. If you believe a criterion is not helpful or important, please recommend removal.
2. Evidence Based Where Possible
Please provide evidence supporting any new criteria and why you believe the criteria should be added.
3. Move towards Integration of TQIP, Verification and PIPS
Please note that our goal is to integrate outcomes measures and standardized performance improvement processes into criteria, as well.
By clicking on chapter links below, you may comment on some or all standards within the chapter. You may provide feedback on just one chapter, or all chapters. Your responses will be held in confidence, and will be used to strengthen ACS COT processes and standards. Thank you very much for joining our efforts to support and advance trauma care.
