American College Of Surgeons - Inspiring Quality: Highest Standards, Better Outcomes

SSR Webinars

Webinars for CMS PQRS 2016 Participation

The American College of Surgeons (ACS) conducted informational webinars for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) 2016 Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) participation in and submission to the Surgeon Specific Registry (SSR) for the General Surgery Measures Group and for Individual Measures Reporting. Eligible professionals (EPs) and those submitting on behalf of EPs are encouraged to participate in one of the relevant webinars to obtain PQRS information, to learn about the measures options in the SSR, and to view a tutorial on PQRS participation in the SSR. Each webinar was followed by a question-and-answer session, and the video recordings of each webinar are posted below for viewing.

Through the CMS PQRS, EPs submit quality data to avoid penalties, which are based on successful participation. EPs submit data on quality measures for services covered under the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule. EPs who are unsuccessful PQRS participants in 2016 will be subject to a two percent penalty in 2018.

PQRS 2016 participation is available through the ACS SSR with three options: EPs may submit the PQRS 2016 General Surgery Measures Group, PQRS 2016 Individual Measures Reporting, or ACS SSR Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR) – Trauma measures. For more information on the SSR QCDR option, contact staff at SSR@facs.org.
