American College Of Surgeons - Inspiring Quality: Highest Standards, Better Outcomes

SSR Users Updates: September 22

Dear SSR Participants,

The SSR has been approved by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to provide Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) Quality participation through registry-based reporting for the 2017 program year.

The following MIPS components and options are available in the SSR:

  • Quality component
    • General Surgery Specialty Measures Set reporting option (MIPS-Qualified Registry)
    • ACS Surgical Phases of Care Measures Set (MIPS-Qualified Clinical Data Registry)
  • Improvement Activities (IA) component

The General Surgery Specialty Measures Set and Improvement Activities are currently available in SSR, and the Surgical Phases of Care Measures Set will be available in the coming weeks.

The SSR team is hosting several educational webinars on how to use the SSR to participate in MIPS 2017 through September 28. The full schedule of webinar sessions can be found on the webinar registration page. A recorded presentation will be made available on the SSR website for those who are unable to participate in a webinar.

In addition, you can visit informational pages on using the SSR for MIPS and visit the ACS Division of Advocacy and Health Policy’s Quality Payment Program (QPP) Resource Center.

In other news, data migration to the new SSR platform is continuing, and you will be notified when your data are available in the new platform. In the meantime, you may still view your historical SSR data in the previous platform until the full data migration process is complete.

If you have questions, please reach out to us at ssr@facs.org or 312-202-5408.

Thank you,

Your SSR Team
