American College Of Surgeons - Inspiring Quality: Highest Standards, Better Outcomes

SSR Users Updates: August

Dear SSR Participant,
We want to take a moment to inform you about the Surgeon Specific Registry’s (SSR) current and new features:

  • On August 25, the SSR deployed the enhanced functionality to transfer your case log to the American Board of Surgery (ABS) allowing surgeons to meet the ABS Continuous Certification Program requirement for 2018.
  • CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) MIPS 2018 functionality will become available in the coming weeks. Check your MIPS 2018 eligibility using the online look-up tool. If you plan to participate in MIPS 2018 via the SSR for individual reporting, we encourage you to start and to continue entering your case data on a regular basis. Visit the ACS website to familiarize yourself with MIPS 2018.
  • Did you know that in the SSR case form, you can now do the following with the click of one button?
    • Set all preoperative risk factors to “No”
    • Set the “Admission Date” as the same as the “Procedure Date”
    • Set all postoperative occurrences to “No”
  • Did you also know that you have operational reports that you can use to analyze your data? You have five operational reports available: Procedures by Date, Procedures Frequency, Wound Classification, Patient Attribute, and Postop Occurrences. Additionally you have several filters, including procedure date, role, procedure type, and procedure location within each report allowing you to drill down further into your data.

To access the SSR reports, click on “Operational Reports” in the SSR main menu, choose “SSR Reports,” and select the report tabs you would like to view. View a short video about the SSR reports

For any other questions, contact SSR program support at SSR@facs.org or 312-202-5408.
Thank you for participating in the SSR and MIPS.
