American College Of Surgeons - Inspiring Quality: Highest Standards, Better Outcomes

SSR Users Update: April 2019

Thank you to those Surgeon Specific Registry™ (SSR) users who  used the SSR platform to comply with and approve their Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) 2018 data submissions. All approved MIPS 2018 data were submitted to the CMS. We will now start performing the CMS mandatory randomized audit for data validation of MIPS 2018 data. This process will include reaching out to randomly selected SSR MIPS participants for this audit in early April 2019.

The SSR has been approved by CMS to provide MIPS 2019 participation for the Quality and Improvement Activities components, and we will update you as this functionality becomes available in the system. We encourage you to enter your SSR cases on a regular basis, not only for the participation in MIPS, but to track your cases and outcomes for surgical quality improvement purposes.

If you plan to participate in CMS MIPS for the 2019 performance year using the ACS SSR, please verify your eligibility for MIPS 2019 Participation. Visit the ACS website for more information on MIPS 2019

Please remember that delegate access is available for surgeon SSR users. A delegate can be any office staff member (for example, practice administrator, nurse, biller) who at times enters data on your behalf. Please note as a surgeon user, you are responsible for managing your delegate account(s) access, including account deactivation. Visit the ACS website for information on how to add or remove a delegate account  under your main SSR account.

For any questions and feedback, contact the SSR program support at or 312-202-5408. Thank you for participating in the SSR and MIPS.
