AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™

The American College of Surgeons designates this live activity for a maximum of 24.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Of the AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ listed above, a maximum of 9 credits meet the requirements for Self-Assessment.

The deadline for physicians to claim Self-Assessment Credit and Continuing Medical Education (CME) conference evaluation credits is August 3, 2018. For physicians who only want to claim CME conference evaluation credits and forego the self-assessment activity, the deadline is September 21, 2018. It is important to keep your badge for login purposes.

If you lose your badge, please contact the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Convention and Meetings department at registration@facs.org to obtain your registration ID number.

Program Objectives

This activity is designed for physicians and nurses. The learning objectives upon completion of this course are to:

  • Provide a professional forum to discuss and apply the most recent knowledge pertaining to national and local quality initiatives in the field of surgery.
  • Present methods used to analyze ACS Quality Programs data and demonstrate practical ways to use the data for quality improvement.
  • Assist hospitals and providers in managing, analyzing, and interpreting data by providing education on proven methods that will empower hospitals and centers to make a positive impact at their facilities.
  • Enhance the learning experience by offering breakout sessions that educate attendees on the topic areas of their choice and with consideration of their level of programmatic experience.

Instructions to Claim CME Credits

Claim CME/CNE in the conference appStep 1

Download the 2018 ACS Quality and Safety Conference mobile app from the App Store or Google Play in order to claim credits. You may also claim credits on the claiming website.

Step 2

Log in to the app or claiming website using your e-mail address and registration ID. If you do not know which e-mail address you used to register or you lost your registration ID, please contact the ACS Convention and Meetings department at registration@facs.org to obtain this information.

Step 3

If claiming from the app, select the yellow Claim CME/CNE tile to begin claiming.

Step 4

Select credit type (CME or CNE). You may also select Completion Certificate if you will not be claiming credits.

Step 5

Select sessions attended, then click Start Evaluation next to those sessions to claim credits and complete session evaluations.

Step 6

Complete the Global Evaluation.

Step 7

If claiming Self-Assessment Credits, complete the self assessment questions.

Step 8

Click Print/Download Certificate to access the certificate chosen.Complete session requirements as described in session instructions on the claiming website.
