Dr. Scott Kurtzman, a surgical oncologist, received his medical degree from the Albany Medical College of Union University in Albany, NY, and went on to complete a general surgery residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Newark. He completed surgical oncology fellowships at the National Cancer Institute, the NIH Surgery Branch, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

Dr. Kurtzman is a professor of surgery in the department of surgery at the University of Connecticut and at Quinnipiac University. He is also the chairman of surgery and the program director for the surgical residency program at the Waterbury Hospital in Waterbury, CT.

Dr. Kurtzman is Vice-Chair of the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) and served as the Chair of the NAPBC Standards and Accreditation Committee.
