Dr. Amy K. Alderman has been in practice for more than 10 years, initially at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where she was a tenured professor and now and in private practice in Atlanta, GA. She was a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar and has focused her research on health disparities, patient decision making, and surgical outcomes in the breast cancer population with external funding from the NIH. She has more than 80 peer-reviewed publications, 10 book chapters, and more than 100 scientific presentations. Currently, she is the American Society of Plastic Surgery board member for the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, surgical editor of the Cochrane Breast Cancer Group, president of the University of Michigan’s plastic surgery alumni association, vice-president of the Georgia Society of Plastic Surgeons, and a board examiner for the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
