Join Us Tomorrow: Recommendations for Cancer Patients and the COVID-19 Vaccine Webinar

As COVID-19 vaccinations continue to roll out and ramp up across the country, members of the medical community have voiced concerns regarding recommendations, access, and adverse effects for cancer patients. The American College of Surgeons Cancer Programs will host a webinar to review these issues, including:

  • Consensus COVID-19 vaccination recommendations for patients in active cancer treatment, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and hormone therapy
  • Specifics for COVID-19 vaccination in breast cancer patients, including those in hormone therapy follow-up, where to deliver the vaccine for unilateral breast cancer, and findings on and timing of screening mammograms
  • Clinical factors associated with worse outcomes among cancer patients infected with COVID-19, including potential underlying immune mechanisms behind severe COVID-19 infection

New courses from the NAPBC Best Practices Webinar Series have been added to the American College of Surgeons Learning Management System.

Clinical Trials Engagement - The speakers discuss the current challenges centers face of increasing both the availability of and enrollment in clinical trials, as well as successful strategies and methods used to address these issues.

Optimizing Breast Conference - The speakers discuss challenges encountered with the conference process and physician and allied health professional engagement, the changes enacted that improved the conferences, and recommendations for patient management.

Both courses offer Continuing Medical Education (CME) Credit for physicians as well as Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) credits for nurses and Continuing Education credits for cancer registrars.
