Rapid Cancer Reporting System (RCRS) Orientation

This informational webinar provides an orientation to the Rapid Cancer Reporting System (RCRS) including, but not limited to, topics that address accessing and effectively using the system and the available reporting function.


Ryan McCabe, PhDRyan McCabe, PhD

Dr. McCabe has been the Senior Manager of the National Cancer Database (NCDB) since 2014. Previously, he was the Director of Clinical & Research Informatics for the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. Before beginning work in healthcare research, Dr. McCabe was a software developer and entrepreneur. He completed a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota focusing on machine learning, computational modeling and validation, probability theory, and computational neuroscience. He has published research in the areas of chronic disease, medical informatics, and quality of life in cancer patients. He is interested in creating and integrating information tools for clinicians and patients with cancer to help inform the decision-making process of screening, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.

Susanne Kessler, MSM, RHIT, CTRSusanne Kessler, MSM, RHIT, CTR

Ms. Kessler has been with the American College of Surgeons for four years. As the manager of the NCDB Information and Data Standards since 2018, she has been instrumental in the support of the new platform RCRS and the upcoming STORE v2021 release.

Nischal TaylorNischal Taylor

Ms. Taylor has been with IQVIA for two years. As the RCRS Cancer Registry Lead, she has played an integral role on data integration, development of business requirements for the reports, and for the launch of RCRS. She will continue to oversee the RCRS project along with upcoming XML submissions and v2021 release.

  • Employ the information to effectively manage the facility's data that has been submitted to the NCDB.
