Program Description

The goal of this year’s conference is to provide attendees with the opportunity to learn about the current activities of the ACS Cancer Programs designed to enhance cancer program operations and support cancer patient care. This includes requirements and compliance strategies for the Commission on Cancer (CoC) Optimal Resources for Cancer Care (2020 Standards), an overview of the new Rapid Cancer Reporting System (RCRS), strategies to support concurrent abstracting, and the plan for deployment of new quality measures to support the delivery of high-quality care, review the new Cancer Surgery Standards Program (CSSP) and the development, release, implementation of surgical standards and synoptic operative reports to improve the quality of surgical care, and a review of changes to cancer staging and coding requirements including the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) Version 9 Staging System implementation plan and cervix uteri release, and future changes anticipated to the STandards for Oncology Registry Entry (STORE) Manual.

Why Attend?

At the conclusion of the conference, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the key changes affecting cancer program operations and patient care delivery relative to CoC standards for accreditation including surgical standards and synoptic operative report implementation.
