Clinical Trial Engagement

Participation in clinical research helps to advance science and improve patient care but in some NAPBC-accredited centers, the number of patients accrued to clinical trials is low due to the limited availability of trials and poor participation. The speakers will discuss the current challenges with increasing both the availability of clinical trials and increasing enrollment faced by their centers and the successful strategies and methods used to increase availability and enrollment.

Genetics Today

Genetic testing to assess cancer risk may be necessary when a personal or family history suggests an inherited cancer risk condition. As information changes and treatments evolve, additional patients may need testing, counseling, and to learn about better treatment options. The speakers will discuss recent advances in genetic testing, counseling, and treatment of patients with breast cancer as well as changes made to their National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC)-accredited breast centers that are addressing patient needs.
