American College Of Surgeons - Inspiring Quality: Highest Standards, Better Outcomes

2019 ACS Leadership Summit a Success

Leadership & Advocacy Summit

The eighth annual American College of Surgeons (ACS) Leadership & Advocacy Summit took place March 30–April 2 in Washington, DC. More than 560 ACS leaders and members attended the Leadership Summit March 31. Attendees enjoyed presentations from notable speakers from the medical and academic worlds on topics that included advancing in your surgical career, raising performance through coaching, advancing care through information technology, using mentorship in leadership development, and refining your negotiation skills.

Leaders from three ACS chapters shared success stories focused on inclusion, empowerment, and legacy in the Virginia Chapter; the future of surgery from the Delaware Chapter; and a Stop the BleedTM success story from the Indiana Chapter. Leadership Summit attendees also had the opportunity to participate in state breakouts over lunch to network and identify strategies to enhance ACS membership at the local level. The Leadership Summit provided relevant, thought-provoking, and actionable information and takeaways for attendees to apply to their practices and daily interactions.

The presentations from the 2019 Leadership Summit are now available on the ACS website.
