American College Of Surgeons - Inspiring Quality: Highest Standards, Better Outcomes

Message from the Editor

There are many sessions and activities at the upcoming Clinical Congress in San Francisco I know will be of interest to young Fellows. We have provided a curated in this pre-Clinical Congress issue of YFA E-News so you can be sure to fit them into your schedules at the meeting. I challenge you all to look for a topic you want to learn more about and attend. If you see Young Fellow Association (YFA) colleagues, be sure to say hello. The Clinical Congress is an important time for us to connect with old friends and meet new colleagues.

If you are able to participate on Tuesday afternoon, we will have another round of speed mentoring for residents. This is a great way for us to “give back” with quick mentoring sessions, and it is also really a fun time.

Make sure to read through this issue to identify sessions at the Clinical Congress that are of interest to you. Our liaisons have provided important updates on the revised ACS Statements on Bullying, Harassment, and Discrimination, and Social Media. Thank you also to all the YFA members who participated in the Quality and Safety Meeting this July.

Watch your e-mail for information on how to vote in the upcoming election for the 2019–2020 YFA chair-elect.

Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!
