Mentors Needed for Clinical Congress Speed Mentoring

On behalf of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Young Fellows Association (YFA), the Women in Surgery Committee, and the Resident and Associate Society, we invite you to submit your application to be a mentor for the YFA Speed Mentoring Program to take place at the Clinical Congress 2016 in Washington, DC.

Program Objective

Our objective is to create a program to strengthen residents’ engagement and participation in the ACS, with the hope that at the completion of the session each mentee will have met one or two mentors with whom to develop a long-term mentoring relationship.

Event Details

The event will take place 4:00–5:00 pm, Tuesday, October 18 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

During the one-hour session, each mentee will meet with up to six mentors, talking to each for 10 minutes at a time. We have asked each mentee to bring a specific question that can be addressed during the 10-minute interview. Mentee/mentor pairs will be matched based on areas of interest. We hope to allow each mentee to meet with a blend of junior and senior Fellows of the College with various experience and training levels.
