American College Of Surgeons - Inspiring Quality: Highest Standards, Better Outcomes

YFA E-News: December 2016

Message from the YFA E-News Editor

Joe DuBoseIt is that time of year again. We would like to thank those of who were able to attend our Young Fellow Association (YFA) events at the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Clinical Congress in Washington, DC. We had a robust business meeting and networking reception. ACS President Courtney M. Townsend, Jr., MD, FACS, provided a wonderful review of ACS history and the role of the young Fellow in the evolution of the ACS. The Initiates Program was a great success and our other sessions were well received.

Some new changes will be coming. In light of expanding communication interfaces, we have elected to scale back some YFA E-News initiatives in order to focus our presence in exciting new ways through Twitter, Facebook, and other mediums. James Suliburk, MD, FACS, Communications Workgroup Chair, outlines some of these exciting initiatives in this issue of YFA E-News. It is our hope that this transition will help bring fun, fresh ideas to the realm of YFA communications.
