It’s tough to think that summer is nearly coming to an end and Clinical Congress is right around the corner. The YFA is happy to announce that we have many sessions on the schedule that we have sponsored and co-sponsored. This is an important representation of us, as the future of the ACS. Below you will find several ways to get involved at ACS, including mentoring and working with medical students and residents. Check out this list of sessions of interest for young fellows at Clinical Congress.

I also recently returned from the ACS Quality and Safety Conference, which was a great learning opportunity. It is a collaboration of our colleagues in nursing and quality, as well as surgeons, working to improve care. The conference showcased all the efforts that go into keeping our patients safe during operations and hospitalizations. Rather than use NSQIP as a way to divide or rank hospitals, it can also help us work together to meet bench marks, which is certainly the future of hospital-based care. Thank you, ACS Quality Programs, for your commitment to our patients and our profession.

Enjoy the last month of summer, and I look forward to seeing you all soon in Boston!!!
