Highlights from Clinical Congress 2016

Pillar and Workgroup Meetings

On Saturday afternoon, pillar and workgroup meetings were held.

Board of Governors Annual Business Meeting

The B/G Annual Business Meeting is traditionally held on Sunday morning. It’s a chance for Governors to hear reports from all of the B/G workgroups as well as to learn about other areas of the College through guest speakers. Members of the Board of Regents also join the meeting. During the luncheon, the ACS President speaks with the Governors.

Dr. Mark Puls, Survey Workgroup Chair, reviews the results of this year’s Governors Survey.

David B. Hoyt, MD, FACS, ACS Executive Director, addresses a question from the audience.

Convocation

On Sunday evening, Governors were invited to participate in the ACS Convocation Ceremony and congratulate the new Initiates.

Board of Governors Adjourned Meeting

The B/G Adjourned Meeting is always held early Wednesday morning. It serves two main purposes, one of which is to hear and vote on the Nominating Committee of the Board of Governors (NCBG) report. The report announces the selection of the officers of the College, new appointments and re-appointments of Regents, and members of the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors.

Dr. Fabrizio Michelassi, Chair of the Board of Governors, congratulates Dr. Jim Fleshman, B/G Executive Committee Member, on a job well done.

Taste of the City

Late Wednesday afternoon, the ACS Taste of the City took place. Guests sampled treats from different Washington, DC, neighborhoods and enjoyed local entertainment.
