National Safety Council (NSC) Award

Mary E. Fallat, MD, FACS

The Committee on Trauma wishes to congratulate Mary E. Fallat, MD, FACS, as recipient of the 2019 National Safety Council’s Surgeons Award for Service to Safety, for her tireless advocacy for improving the care of pediatric trauma patients through recognition of the impact of disparities on pediatric trauma patients and her dedication to research in trauma care.

The surprise award is generally presented jointly by the Chair of the Committee on Trauma (COT), the President of The American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST), and the National Safety Council (NSC) during the Committee on Trauma Banquet at Clinical Congress in October.
