NCDB Announces: CQIP and RQRS Enrollment Updates

Release of CQIP Postponed until January 2017

The NCDB will be postponing the release of CQIP 2016 until January 2017. Recently, an unexpected IT error occurred that disabled the editing feature of CP3R from Friday, December 9, 2016 at 5:00 pm Central Time until Monday, December 12, at 11:00 am Central Time. We acknowledge the impact that the system downtime had on programs' ability to edit data in CP3R in time to meet the deadline set for the release of CQIP. In order to provide accredited programs with adequate time to review and update their data in CP3R, the NCDB is extending the deadline for CP3R case edits to January 13, 2017. We hope this will enable programs to review the quality of their data and enjoy the upcoming holiday season, too!

CQIP will report quality measures in the following primary sites: Breast, Cervix, Colon, Endometrium, Gastric, Non-Small Cell Lung, Ovary and Rectum. Both CQIP and the Data Completeness and Default Overuse Report will be released in January 2017.

Bladder Quality Measure

An issue was identified with the Bladder Quality Measure (BL2RLN): "At least two lymph nodes are removed in patients under 80 undergoing partial or radical cystectomy." The full range of bladder primary site codes specified for the eligibility criteria for this measure were not included. C67.9 (Bladder, NOS), was excluded when generating the data included in CP3R. Programs may notice an increase in case counts later this week as these cases are included in the system. As a result, CQIP 2016 will not include CP3R data for the bladder measure. Please Note: The bladder cases currently included in the calculation are appropriately assessed. We recommend that programs direct their case editing resources to the other measures that will be included in CQIP 2016, as well as 2014 data.

RQRS Enrollment and Data Submissions Processing Updates

Programs are actively working to enroll in RQRS as we approach the requirement for all CoC-accredited programs to participate in RQRS by January 1, 2017. Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside our control, RQRS has been experiencing intermittent outages. Therefore, the NCDB and CoC are extending the deadline for program enrollment in RQRS from January 1, 2017 to January 31, 2017 to facilitate compliance with Standard 5.2.

As of today, we continue to work to resolve the issues with the processing and display of submitted data into the RQRS application. Please note that programs can still submit data to RQRS and should continue to do so. We are optimistic that we will resolve the identified issues and complete the processing the backlog of submissions this week. Submissions will be processed and displayed in the order they were received.

The NCDB thanks our programs dedication and commitment to quality data. As always, your feedback is greatly appreciated and invaluable to the process of improving the NCDB. Please send all comments, concerns, and questions to the NCDB Customer Support Team.
