September ACS-AEI Virtual Grand Rounds Session Will Address Faculty Development

The Technology and Simulation Committee’s newly formed Virtual Grand Rounds (VGR) Program Committee is excited to announce the next VGR series session scheduled for September 14, 9:00–10:30 am CST.

We are excited to have speakers Diana Dolmans, MSc, PhD (Maastricht University, The Netherlands), and Alice Fornari, EdD, RD (Hofstra University, New York, NY), present Faculty development: Qvo vadis?

About the Speakers

Diana Dolmans, MSc, PhDDiana Dolmans is a professor in the field of innovative learning arrangements and a staff member of the School of Health Professions Education (SHE) at Maastricht University. Internationally acclaimed for her research within problem-based learning, Dr. Dolmans’ interests include problem-based learning, faculty development, and quality assurance. Her current research focuses on key success factors of innovative curricula within higher education. She is a member of the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE) Research Committee, serves as associate editor of Advances in Health Sciences Education, is an editorial board member of several international journals, and has published more than 100 papers in refereed international journals.


Alice Fornari, EdD, RDAlice Fornari is professor of science education, population health, and family medicine and associate dean for educational skills development at Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine. Dr. Fornari’s professional interests include promotion of professionalism, communications skills, and ethics to the education and practice of health professionals. In her current position as an associate dean at the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine, Dr. Fornari established a community of practice, an inter-disciplinary group of professionals that works to increase faculty knowledge and skills specific to reflective practice as a core competency in medical education and create a culture that supports this as a competency for practice.
