ACS Provides Feedback on 21st Century Cures 2.0

U.S. Reps. Diana DeGette (D-CO) and Fred Upton (R-MI) released a concept paper outlining several priorities to consider as they develop the next phase of the 21st Century Cures Act. The American College of Surgeons (ACS) provided comprehensive policy solutions on several areas of the “Cures 2.0” framework. Key recommendations center on the need for standards-based data across the U.S. in order to accurately share and aggregate data, increased health literacy with a focus on value, and access to clinical trials for both Medicare Advantage plan participants and Medicaid enrollees. The ACS also provided feedback on the need for a national trauma system and provided other considerations to ensure a patient-centered approach to digital health.
