Bulletin of the American College of Surgeons
The Bulletin of the American College of Surgeons is an official publication of the American College of Surgeons (ACS). Established in 1916 as a dispatch released to Fellows when College leadership had information to share, the Bulletin now provides monthly coverage on ACS activities and members, as well as topics of broad appeal to surgeons in general.
The Bulletin offers in-depth feature stories that address all aspects of surgery, including practice, training, education, payment, ethics, legislation, advocacy, and more; regular columns; news on the College and the surgical field; and information on ACS scholarships.
The Bulletin Online
The ACS has an online version of the Bulletin, which offers all of the content of the print version in a contemporary, user-friendly format. Guidelines for navigating the Bulletin microsite include the following:
- All content is organized by category below the microsite header. For instance, under “Columns,” the user may select “Executive Director’s Report” to view all of these columns available on the microsite.
- The search tool is located on the top-right side of the main page, and may be used to search for topics, authors, keywords, and more.
- Clickable tags at the end of each article will generate a list of related posts.
- Archived issues are located in a dropdown list on the left side of the main page.
