Biography

Vascular and Endovascular procedures. 85 to 90% of the procedures are percutaneous based in a dedicated endovascular suite. Practice include TIPS procedures for UGIB, coiling of UGIB and LGIB, diagnosis of AVM's, solid tumor coil embolizations and or intra-arterial administration of chemotherapeutic agents, coiling and excision of carotid body tumors. Aortic aneurysm endoexclusions, thoracic aneurysm endoexclusions, carotid-subclavian steal syndromes, etc. Vascular access surgery for acute and chronic hemodyalisis, CAPD, catheter placement with percutaneous maintenance of vascular access. Renal artery angioplasties, mesenteric arteries angioplasties. Lower extremity percutaneous and open surgical limb salvage procedure using state of the art technology. Cerebrovascular disease evaluation and treatment including carotid stenting with cerebral protection devices and open carotid endarterectomies with cerebral flow protection devices. Vascular access creation and maintenance using percutaneous based therapies to avoid repated surgical interventions and traditional open surgical management. There is close collaboration with transplant surgeons to assist and coordinate kidney transplants.
