Frank Rotolo, M.D., F.A.C.S. is the division head of General Surgery at Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC). A native of Maryland, he completed his undergraduate studies Magna cum laude at Georgetown University where he received the Milievik Chemistry Award. At the University of Michigan Medical School he was awarded the Gardner Child 3rd award as the top graduating medical student entering surgery. He completed his general surgical residency at Duke University Medical Center in 1989 under the Direction of David C. Sabiston, M.D. At Duke he spent two research years in the hepatobiliary laboratory of William C. Meyers, M.D. Dr. Rotolo is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.) and a member of the Baltimore Academy of Surgery, the Baltimore County Medical Association, the Sabiston Society, the Society of Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, and the American Society of Breast Surgeons. In addition to his appointment as the division head of general surgery he serves as the secretary/treasurer of the medical staff at GBMC and president of the Maryland Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. He served for nine years as the Maryland State Chair for the Cancer Liaison Physicians for the Commission on Cancer. He is a past president of the Baltimore Academy of Surgery. He has been selected as one of “Baltimore’s Best Docs” several times. Dr. Frank Rotolo is board certified in general surgery. His clinical interests include oncologic surgery on the breast, colon, stomach and skin as well as open and advanced laparoscopic procedures for gastrointestinal disease and abdominal wall hernias.
