As Professor of Surgery and Chairman of the Department of Surgery at the University of Arizona - Phoenix College of Medicine and the Program Director of the Phoenix Integrated Surgical Residency Program, I am actively involved in the training and education of residents and medical students in Surgery. These individuals will become the next generation of highly qualified and respected surgeons in Arizona and nationally. My clinical practice is in General Surgery, specifically in complex and critically ill surgical patients. This includes but is not limited to patients with Trauma, abdominal infections (sepsis), pancreatitis, organ failure, and re-operative abdominal and gastrointestinal surgery problems.
