Requirements for SSC Membership
- Chair of a surgical department including surgery and surgical specialties
- Surgeon in chief of a children’s hospital
- The chair should have an academic appointment at a university medical school
- The hospital or health system should have an affiliation with a university
- The hospital will have an ACGME approved residency in general surgery
