This webinar provides chapter leaders with information on what the College is doing on their behalf to encourage chapter membership among members of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), share a wide variety of strategies to support ongoing member recruitment and retention, and discuss other resources the College can develop and deploy to assist with member recruitment.

Our featured presenter, Connie Bura, is the Associate Director for the Division of Member Services, with primary responsibility for member recruitment, retention and engagement.

More about Connie Bura
Connie Bura is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago with a bachelor’s in business administration. She has been a staff member of the College for 30 years. Before joining the Division of Member Services in 2012, Connie served as the Administrative Director for Cancer Programs in the Division of Research and Optimal Patient Care managing the activities of the Commission on Cancer, the American Joint Committee on Cancer, and the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.

Connie has worked on a number of recruitment strategies throughout her career including the expansion of accredited cancer and breast programs within the Cancer Programs area, and now in Member Services where she is responsible for articulating the value of membership and designing strategies to recruit, retain, and engage young surgeons, and to ensure that those individuals that join the College either as medical students, residents, or Associate Fellows maintain their relationship with the organization throughout their careers up to and including achieving Fellowship status.
