The Advisory Council for Colon and Rectal Surgery serves as a liaison in the communication of information to and from the colon and rectal surgery societies and the ACS Board of Regents. In addition, it advises the Board of Regents on policy matters and policy formations relating to colon and rectal surgery.

Surgical societies and organizations represented on the Advisory Council include:

  • American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons
  • American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery 
  • Association of Program Directors for Colon and Rectal Surgery
  • ACS Board of Regents
  • ACS Board of Governors
