Bellevue Hospital Center for Breast Care

The Bellevue Breast Care Center offers comprehensive diagnostic, primary and consultative breast care services to a socio-economically and ethnically diverse population of adults residing in NYC. Over 70% of the patients are immigrants, with 60% non-English speaking. Committed to eliminating health care disparities, the Breast Center maintains a robust cross-cultural supportive structure including multilingual patient navigators. The Breast Center provides interdisciplinary coordinated care with access to on-site consultation with board certified breast surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, and dedicated mid level providers. It also participates in the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers (NQMBC) quality initiative program. With a dedicated plastic surgery team, over 80% of patients requiring mastectomy undergo immediate reconstruction with either implants or microvascular free flaps. All treatment decisions are collaborative and interdisciplinary.
