Associate Fellow News: March 2022

A Message from the Administrator

This month, the Resident and Associate Society of the American College of Surgeons (RAS-ACS) has embarked on a follow-up COVID-19 survey. We hope to use the data collected to inform our manuscripts for the August 2022 issue of the Bulletin series, COVID-19 Two Years Later: Lessons Learned. Each RAS member was emailed a unique link to the survey on March 11.

We hope to see you at the Leadership & Advocacy Summit, April 2–4, either in person or virtually.

Enjoy this issue of Resident Member News.

Check Out the Next Pathways to Fellowship Series Video

The interview, conducted by Dr. Lyndsey Kilgore (breast surgical oncologist at the University of Kansas Cancer Center and Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons) and Haley Nadone (Medical Student Committee Member at the University Nevada Reno) can be found on the ACS YouTube channel. In this interview, Dr. Sonia Ramamoorthy, the chief of colorectal surgery at UCSD, and Dr. Josh Mammen, an inspiring surgical oncologist at University of Nebraska, share their thoughts on what the American College of Surgeons has meant to them from medical school to present. Both surgeons strongly encourage life-long engagement of their trainees in the College in order to experience the many benefits that they discuss in the video.

Past videos in the Pathways to Fellowship Series, including interviews from prominent surgeons in their fields of pediatrics, OB-GYN, and urology, can also be found on YouTube.
