ACS-AEI International Committee Ends 2021 with a Successful Membership Campaign

The ACS-AEI International Committee strategically expanded its numbers in 2021 to address an increasing workload. Please welcome our three new members: Blagoi Marinov, PhD, MD, University of Plovdiv, Bulgaria; Luca Morelli, MD, FACS, FASCRS, University of Pisa, Italy; and Homero Rivas, MD, MBA, FACS, FASMBS, Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, UAE.

Additionally, the committee added five consultants who have experience working with international programs or have the potential to establish an accredited AEI in the next couple of years. Welcome to our new consultants: Omer Burak Argun, MD, Acibadem Mehmet Ali Aydinlar University, Turkey; James M. Cooke, MD, FAAFP, University of Michigan, US; Davide Lomanto, MD, PhD, FAMS(Surg), FRCSEdin(Hon), National University of Singapore; Asit Misra, MD, MSMEd, CHSE, University of Miami, FL, US; and Yasser Noureldin, MD, MSc, PhD, Benha University, Egypt.

This infusion of new talent will help the International Committee accomplish its mission of breaking down silos between AEIs across the globe by focusing on developing a forum for active and meaningful participation in the international community.
