  • Framework for establishing a surgical quality program

See what the Quality and Safety Conference has to offer in the following video.

Session Spotlight – QI Basics Workshop

New this year, the Quality Improvement Basics Workshop will take place daily during the conference. This all-day, in-person course will teach QI principles and provide the tools needed to  implement and track initiatives at your institution. Workshop attendees also will have access to the online course for reference after the workshop.

The workshop has six modules:

  • Introduction to Quality Improvement: QI concepts and the rationale for investing in quality
  • The Quality Improvement Process: How QI happens and how to begin a QI project
  • Data Measurement and Analysis: How data are used throughout a QI project and some fundamental tools that can help to disseminate and analyze data
  • Change Management: How change happens and the factors that affect the change process, and how implementation science can be used throughout a QI project
  • Patient Safety: The role of culture in maintaining and improving patient safety, the characteristics of high-reliability institutions, and how to evaluate and improve your hospital’s safety culture
  • Leadership and Teamwork for QI: The characteristics of effective leadership and teamwork and how to develop and evaluate teamwork and leadership skills

Check out the conference agenda and plan your conference experience by choosing the day that works best to attend the QI Basics Workshop.

Several sessions will be recorded and made available through the on-demand platform after the in-person conference. Attendees may claim educational credits for the in-person sessions, as well as those available via the on-demand platform.
