Did You Know ACS Members Can Access Online EBDS Modules for Free?

The ACS offers many resources that provide education and training to help surgeons improve their practice, and Evidence-Based Decisions in Surgery (EBDS) modules are among the College’s most direct clinical aids. EBDS offers established surgical practice guidelines available for surgeons at the point of care, developed from standard techniques of evidence analysis and grading of the strength of the evidence. ACS members can access the online EBDS modules for free.

The 80+ online modules cover a range of topics, from antibiotic prophylaxis for gastrointestinal endoscopy to ventilator support for adult patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome. With the last few months, the following new topic modules have been added to the EBDS website, among others:

• Diagnosis and Management of Colon Ischemia
• Management of Malignant Melanoma: Use of Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy (SLNB) and Completion Lymph Node Dissection (CLND)
• Ostomy Surgery
• Prevention of COVID-19 Infection in Healthcare Personnel
