August 15, 2023

Share your experience and learn to use surgical simulation to help train, assess, and refine the essential skills of trainees and medical students in the ACS Introduction to Simulation-Based Teaching course, September 21-23 in Dallas, Texas. Participants will learn the fundamentals of surgical simulation through interactive lectures and discussions. The application deadline for this unique program has been extended to Friday, August 25.

Hands-on training will be provided with various types of simulators, followed by practical experience using simulation to teach and assess medical students. Topics will include simulation-based training and deliberate practice, types of simulators and simulations, briefing and debriefing, and assessment tools. Hands-on experiences will use modules from the ACS/ASE Medical Student Simulation-Based Surgical Skills curriculum, and other curricula and resources will be discussed.
