Virtual Interviews: How to set yourself up for success

On June 2, 2020 the Resident and Associate Society of the American College of Surgeons (RAS-ACS) hosted a webinar on tips and tricks for virtual interviews, in the context of both residency and fellowship applications. At the end of the webinar, attendees will feel better prepared to attend a virtual interview.

Moderators/Organizers:

Madeline Torres, MD, PGY4 general surgery resident at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA. She is the chair of the RAS-ACS Membership committee and aspiring surgical oncologist.

Jeremy Kauffman, MD. PGY4 general surgery resident at the University of Pittsburg. He is the vice-chair for the RAS-ACS Membership committee and aspiring pediatric surgeon.

Rebecca Williams-Karnesky, MD, PGY4, general surgery resident at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. She serves as the secretary of the RAS-ACS Education committee and is active in both the Education and Membership committees.

Maria Altieri, MD, minimally invasive surgeon and assistant professor in the department of surgery at East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine. Dr. Altieri serves as the secretary for the RAS-ACS Membership committee.

Ashley Leberfinger, MD, PGY5 general surgery resident at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA. She recently matched into Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at Summa Health. Her interview trail was divided into both in-person and virtual interviews.
