Membership Committee

The Membership Committee is a subcommittee of the Resident and Associate Society of the American College of Surgeons (RAS-ACS). We are comprised of Resident Members and Associate Fellows interested in member recruitment, international exchange, and mentoring opportunities.

• The mission of this committee is to recruit and engage resident and associate fellow members into the College through activities that articulate the RAS value proposition
• Provide strategic leadership to RAS membership as it relates to developing engagement activities that articulate the value proposition of ACS membership to young surgeons in training and to those in fellowship
• Prioritize committee initiatives and resolve resource allocation issues based on project prioritization.
• Ensure open communication between the RAS membership and the Membership Committee to promote active engagement in RAS activities.

• Resident and Associate Fellow Engagement
• Annual spring retention campaign (PGY2s)
• Mentoring relationship with the medical student, resident, and international members by inviting them to specific engagement activities
