I invite you and your entire surgical team to join us in San Francisco, October 19–22 for Clinical Congress 2024. If you haven’t already registered, please register today.

This year, we shifted Clinical Congress to a Saturday-to-Tuesday schedule, minimizing the time we will be away from our hospitals, clinics, and patients. This is what you wanted—and we listened!

We have also added more specialty-focused content such as thematic sessions on neurosurgery, vascular surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery on Sunday, and multidisciplinary panels throughout the meeting on cutting-edge topics in gastrointestinal surgery, urology, OB/GYN, trauma, maxillofacial surgery, ophthalmology, and more. Clinical Congress programming truly will reflect the entire House of Surgery.

You can find details about these courses in the Interactive Program Planner, which also highlights more than 100 Panel Sessions, eight Named Lectures, and our Annual Business Meeting of Members. More than 200 Continuing Medical Education credits will be available, and many sessions will address specific regulatory mandates for state licensure, MOC, and ACS accreditation and verification programs.

In addition, we are also refining opportunities for camaraderie, collaboration, and socialization. Our capstone Taste of the City event will be on Tuesday and is free for the entire family.

Clinical Congress was first held in San Francisco in 1935, and—in recent years—the “City by the Bay” has been the location of our most highly attended meetings.

San Francisco is known for many things, including its tremendous growth during the Gold Rush, the Summer of Love in the 1960s, and its unique status as the center of technological innovations that continue to reshape surgery and the world today. As such, safety and security are a top priority. We are in very close contact with officials in San Francisco, who have assured us that ambassadors and safety personnel will have a high-profile presence so that attendees have a secure and productive experience. And our ophthalmology and anesthesia colleagues have both hosted their flagship annual meetings in San Francisco within the last year and had fantastic reviews.

I look forward to seeing you in October!
