Title: Advanced Robotic Surgery for Specialized Gastrointestinal Operations
Date and Time of Session: Tuesday, October 24: 8:00 am - 5:30 pm
Description: This advanced hands-on robotic cadaver lab with experts in the field is intended for the surgeon who has mastered the basics in robotic surgery. Participants will experience a high-level, organ-based course that will teach step-by-step specifics for robotic organ resection including colectomy, gastrectomy, hepatobiliary, and other intraabdominal resections. Surgeon participants will have brief didactic technical 'how-to' presentations by renowned experts in the organ followed by an in-depth tutorial on the cadavers. Finally, participants will perform the operations while being guided through the steps and 'pearls and pitfalls' will be given by the expert surgeons. Registration is limited and participants must have basic robotic skills to enroll.
