American College Of Surgeons - Inspiring Quality: Highest Standards, Better Outcomes

Session Code: PS119
Title: Getting the Sickest Patients Ready When They Need to Go to the Operating Room
Date and Time of Session: Monday, October 23: 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
Description: The sickest patients still need operative care, often in urgent situations. This session will explain how to optimize some of those patients for surgery, including those with congestive heart failure, liver disease, geriatric patients, immunosupressed patients and those with chronic kidney disease. Understanding what can be modified and what cannot helps in the decision process, as well as what factors truly lead to increased risk.
