Description: The current practice of Emergency General Surgery (EGS) as a component of Acute Care Surgery has continued to evolve and is based on the needs of the patients, and the diseases they present with. In addition, the common EGS disease which an acute care surgeon commonly sees on call will be reviewed. This course will be divided into three sections: 1. The Emergency General Surgery Program and current developments; 2. Review of common EGS surgical diseases and their surgical management; and 3. Understand new and developing concepts in EGS.
