Program Highlights

The TTP Associate will predominantly spend the year as a part of the acute care surgery team doing emergency surgery and wound care. The TTP Associate will rotate to a rural site for a portion of their time where they will gain practice management and rural surgical exposure. Rotations in minimally invasive surgery and bariatrics will afford the opportunity to gain both endosurgical and endoscopic skills as well. Other services such as thoracic, critical care, oncology, vascular, and ob/gyn will be available as independent electives depending on the assessment of the TTP Associate’s needs and goals.

Program Description

The year will be roughly divided in three-month intervals of oversight evolution. Initially, all of the work of the TTP Associate will be closely overseen. At the end of each three months, the TTP Associate will be reviewed and subsequently released to more independent work until, by the last three to six months, the TTP Associate will be providing independent emergency surgery services with backup only as needed. In the fourth interval, the program will look to provide retrospective review and debrief.
