Educational Program

What is the educational program during the virtual Clinical Congress 2020?

The Clinical Congress will again offer practicing surgeons, surgery residents, medical students, and other members of the operating room team with the opportunity to participate in a spectrum of educational offerings and interact with the faculty and their peers. The virtual Clinical Congress 2020 program will include a live virtual component October 3–7, and an on-demand component after the virtual live event. We will share detailed information about the virtual Clinical Congress 2020 program soon.

Events and Special Programs

How are you handling events and special programs during the virtual Clinical Congress? Will Convocation still take place?

In addition to the educational program for Clinical Congress 2020, we have several virtual special events and sessions planned for our attendees, including Convocation. We will share more information about these events soon.

Initiates

I’m part of the 2020 Fellowship Class, how will new Fellows be recognized this year?

The ACS will host a Virtual Convocation to recognize and confer Fellowship on current Initiates. Initiates who are unable to attend the Virtual Convocation will still be granted Fellowship status in absentia. Details on this Virtual Convocation will be available soon.

Housing

Do I need to cancel my reservation?

No, all existing hotel reservations made through the official housing provider of Clinical Congress, onPeak ( acs@onpeak.com ), have been canceled automatically and you will receive a confirmation via email.  If you secured housing outside of the official room block, you are responsible for the cancellation of those reservations and for any cancellation fees that may have been incurred.

What if I still plan on being in Chicago over the scheduled dates of the Clinical Congress?

Anyone still planning on visiting Chicago over the dates of October 2–8, will need to contact their preferred hotel and make reservations directly with the property.  As mentioned, all ACS reservations have been cancelled over the dates of Clinical Congress. Please note that the ACS Clinical Congress discounted rates will no longer be available, so all reservations will be at the hotel’s prevailing rates.

I reserved a meeting room during Clinical Congress at a preferred ACS hotel. Is there anything that I need to do?

The ACS has notified all preferred hotels of the cancellation of the ACS Clinical Congress. In doing this, along with cancelling all hotel reservations, all meeting space has been released. If you would still like to meet in-person over these dates, please immediately contact the hotel to confirm reserving meeting space. If you need assistance with this, please contact jtheberge@facs.org.
