Surgeon Memberships

Special Offer: Use code Fellow2020 to have your application fee waived for Fellow and Associate applications during Clinical Congress 2020.

  • Fellow: board certified and a minimum of one year of experience
  • International Fellow: board certified and a minimum of three years of experience
  • Associate Fellow: surgeons who have less than the minimum years in practice or are not board certified
  • Resident: surgical residents who are currently enrolled in an accredited surgical training program, and those who have completed surgical residency and are continuing in surgical research or surgical fellowship programs
  • Medical Student: medical students currently enrolled in accredited allopathic or osteopathic medical school

Non-Surgeon Membership*

Non-Surgeon (Affiliate): physicians and non-physicians who work as part of the operating room team, in the office environment, in research, in surgical education, or in a medical association

The letters FACS (Fellow, American College of Surgeons) after a surgeon’s name mean that the surgeon’s education and training, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and ethical conduct have passed a rigorous evaluation, and have been found to be consistent with the high standards established and demanded by the College.
