ACSPA-SurgeonsPAC Recognizes COT State Fundraising Competition Winners

SurgeonsPAC

The American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma (COT) set a goal of having 70 percent of its members participate in the ACS Professional Association’s political action committee (ACSPA-SurgeonsPAC). To engage COT members outside of traditional annual meeting events, COT Advocacy Pillar Chair Michael Coburn, MD, FACS, and SurgeonsPAC staff introduced a three-month, state-focused fundraising competition.

Using SurgeonsPAC’s mobile fundraising platform and peer-to-peer efforts, throughout the competition volunteer COT PAC ambassadors promoted SurgeonsPAC activities and educated the COT general membership about ACS trauma-related priorities. The states that engaged in these activities will be formally recognized during the COT 97th Annual Meeting in March. The COT extends special congratulations to Texas, California, and New York for recruiting the greatest number of contributors during the state fundraising competition.
