Pursuant to a Presidential Executive Order, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has promulgated a rule intended to improve regulations that are unnecessary, obsolete, or excessively burdensome on physicians. The rule increases the ability of physicians to devote resources to improving patient care by eliminating to reducing some of the requirements that impede the provision of quality patient care. The American College of Surgeons (ACS) letters below describe feedback on specific rules that can be modified or streamlined in order to ease the regulatory burden on physicians.
