Measure-Applicability Validation Process

The Measure-Applicability Validation (MAV) Process is applied to eligible professionals who participate in the individual claims or traditional registry-based measures reporting option and report on fewer than nine measures or more than nine measures across less than three National Quality Strategy domains. This process does not apply to the traditional registry measures group reporting option. The MAV Process will determine whether an eligible professional should have submitted additional measures or domains.

If it is determined that the provider could not have submitted more measures, they will not be subject to a payment penalty.
